The Central Portfolio Management unit (part of Corporate & Institutional Banking) uses advanced credit risk models for risk assessment, business steering and regulatory capital calculation. The Model Management team is responsible for these advanced credit risk models. Currently, the landscape is undergoing a lot of changes to make models compliant with new regulations. Models are being redeveloped and reviewed in multi-disciplinary teams involving resources from various departments.

As Project Manager CIB Model Landscape, you will make a vital contribution to redevelop credit risk models in compliance with regulations and to ensure the availability and quality of the underlying data, both for model redevelopments and for model reviews.
You will use your project management skills to lead and coordinate the CIB responsibilities and activities, and work with Modelling, the Risk Data & Modelling grid, and Corporate Data Office to meet the specified goals within agreed timelines. Together with your team and experts from respective CIB sectors, you will participate in a number of multi-disciplinary teams for the models in scope. You will safeguard and represent the business interests to ensure a model landscape that fits the CIB strategy.
Responsibilities include planning of team activities in line with the CIB objectives, execution of the planning and steering towards results within the specified timelines. This all and in cooperation with Modelling, the Risk Data & Modelling grid and Corporate Data Office and the team itself
Because the department is bringing the models and underlying data to a structurally higher level, you and your colleagues will be actively working to improve the process where necessary. Autonomous cooperation based on an agile approach will be the key to success.
Given the importance the regulatory authorities ascribe to risk management (modelling, external reports, internal audits) and the data underpinning it, this is a challenging role with a potentially heavy workload.
Your working environment
The Central Portfolio Management team consists of 10-15 experts (end state YE2020), 4 expert leads and the Head of CPM. The team is part of the Structured Finance & Portfolio Management department within Corporate & Institutional Banking and will reflect a diverse range of professional and personal backgrounds. The team is at the centre of CIB’s capital efficient strategy, being responsible for capital allocation, data & model management, performance management & analytics, and active portfolio steering.
You will work in Central Portfolio Management as part of the Model & Data Management cluster. The Data & Model Management cluster is a knowledge centre of credit risk rating models used by CIB. The Model Landscape is currently undergoing a lot of changes to comply with new regulations. Changes and developments in models are important because of implications on the RWA and CIB’s performance.
You will closely cooperate with expert leads within CPM, commercial staff within the CIB Lending Businesses, as well as on a regular basis with central functions such as Modelling, the Risk Data & Modelling grid, Corporate Data Office, Financial Restructuring & Recovery and other grids responsible for sourcing modelling data.
You have a proven track record in project management. You have a proactive, hands-on mentality. Client focus is the main driver behind your work within the team. You take responsibility. You have a strong drive and you can motivate the team to meet the project objectives within the agreed timelines. You are keen to actively contribute to further developing and improving the area you work in.
